The current generic qualitative study explored counselors' experiences in the school environment where bullying takes place. Counselors play a vital role in the schools because they work directly with the student body. They can be a great resource to schools in helping to reduce bullying within the school environment. Because of their role with students, they serve as helpers to students but also a liaison between students, administrators, staff, parents, and the community. For this research study, the generic qualitative research method was used to answer the research question, "What are the counselors' perception of bullying in middle and high school?" Using the purposeful sampling method, eight counselors with experience working with adolescents in the schools gave an account of their experiences as it related to the topic. The inductive data analysis method was used to complete the data analysis. Research from the topic has shown that there is a high level of bullying taking place in the schools and what effects it has on students. The themes of home life, safeguards for students, aggression/social isolation, school culture, education, and recommendations for intervention were revealed from the eight participants' perceptions of bullying in middle and high school. The findings revealed that the role of the counselor is needed to provide support to schools to improve bullying within the school.
