There can be many stressors in people's lives, including personal and work-related issues. Individuals who experience high-stress levels and poor coping self-efficacy may experience relief when they exercise, and exercise can be a treatment to decrease stress levels and improve coping self-efficacy. The purpose of this quantitative study was to answer the following research questions: (a) How does exercise intensity level affect stress? and (b) How does exercise intensity level affect coping self-efficacy? Two existing surveys were used to determine the effect, if any, of exercise intensity level on individual stress and coping self-efficacy levels. Data analysis addressed if exercise intensity affected stress and coping self-efficacy. Finding showed that exercise intensity had a positive effect on coping self-efficacy but not on stress. These findings addressed the gap in the literature and provided tools and interventions for professionals to use to treat stress and improve coping self-efficacy.
