Federal, private, and non-profit organizations are all funding ecosystem services within the Colorado River Basin. Over a ten-year period from 2009 to 2018, there is a prevalent pattern that has shown funding favors specific sub-regions within the basin. The four ecosystem service categories all receive funding from these organizations; however, the regulating service category is receiving twice as much funding as the other ecosystem service categories. With changing ideals in the basin, a need for more water, and the battle with climate change it is important to know what areas are receiving the funding and what services are profiting the most from these organizations' funding efforts.
