This case study is being completed to support executive leadership as they move an organization from a hierarchical management structure to a flatter self-managing hybrid structure. Trends supporting this change include the need for a faster rate of knowledge transfer as well as unprecedented advancements in technology. The rigid designs of antiquated hierarchy reporting structures limit the agility of the organization to respond to changing business needs as they occur. Leaders considering this type of change in structure will need to assess the organization's current design, the culture of the organization, the desired end-state design and the steps needed to implement a system wide change.
