This dissertation explores the effects of student-faculty interactions at Delaware Technical Community College in Wilmington, Delaware. The community college serves individuals seeking two-year (associate) degrees. Delaware Tech is the only community college in the state and competes with more than five other institutions of higher education. Areas explored in this dissertation include the amount of time that students interact with faculty members outside of class time, the types of curricular and extracurricular activities that students are involved in, and suggestions for activities that would enhance the community college experience. Faculty members' years of service, department discipline, teaching load, and additional responsibilities are also examined in this dissertation. This research has discovered student-faculty interaction is a significant factor in the success of students pursing their degree at Delaware Tech. . This study examined the effects of student-faculty interactions on community college student pursing a degree. Those effects are types and frequencies of the interactions.
