Mental imagery is an expression of perceptual experience that takes place in the human mind. When we hear a sound, our brain automatically recalls our memory to generate emotion, images, texture, and even spaces and structures in our minds. Studies have shown that people who are visually impaired can still construct or emotionally feel their surroundings in their minds. In exhibition design, we can use the same phenomenon to tell stories from a different perspective, engage with a wider audience, and create an interpretive environment in an in-depth and highly artistic way.
