Eighteen students in an inner-city seventh grade ELA class participated in this case study. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of the station rotation and flipped classroom rotation models in the middle school setting to increase students scores on classroom and district assessments. The researcher delivered direct instruction on ELA standards from either of the models listed and then students took weekly assessments for the researcher to assess if the method utilized increased students' scores. Data was examined by analyzing the school's mandatory weekly assessments given on the standards taught and the pre-assessment and post-assessments taken by students at the beginning and end of the study to assess if the models utilized were efficacious in student growth.
