This research study aimed to explore the leadership style changes organization development and change managers needed to incorporate into leadership development to develop authentic leaders in a nonprofit organization. Positive leadership includes the transformational, servant, and authentic leadership styles. Authentic leadership was at the heart of this exploratory study and supporting topics, and subtopics in areas of positive organizational psychology, positive organizational culture, and positive organizational change were included to support the study. North American non-profit leaders that were part of a LinkedIn social media group were the prime candidates for this study. The research question that guided this research was: What are the leadership style changes ODC Managers need to incorporate into leadership development to develop authentic leaders in a nonprofit organization? This study utilized exploratory interviewing to gather data from 10 participants that were identified as having authentic leadership qualities on the social media group on LinkedIn. Research participant data were manually coded, and themes were identified and analyzed. Manual analysis of the coded data yielded four major themes and four prominent topics. The four major themes were: (a) self-awareness; (b) behavior; (c) connectedness; and (d) relational transparency. The four prominent topics were: (a) passion; (b) self-care; (c) consistency; and (d) compassion. This research added to the body of knowledge of management, leadership, and organizational development and change.
