This paper focuses on the tactical strategies that social media movements use on Twitter. Twitter is the social media platform where hashtag activism was development and where social media movements rapidly proliferate and just as quickly dissipate. The two movements that I examine are Black Lives Matter and White Genocide. This paper uses an analysis of 50,000 tweets from each of the two movements and analyzes the communicative tactics that the movements use to remain relevant.
