This study examined how EJ Dunn Middle School could develop a PE/Athletic Program that strengthened the school community. Using an Action Research approach, this study provided EJ Dunn Middle School with the opportunity to enhance its PE/Athletic program, while at the same time helping to strengthen the school community. It allowed the school community to realize how changes to the PE/Athletic Program can positively influence the entire school climate and address growing world-wide health concerns. The research employed Appreciative Inquiry interviews and a World Cafe in its methodology. The value of the PE/Athletic program, the importance of respect and equal opportunity, the significance of success and recognition, the desire to offer more PE/Athletic opportunities, and the benefit from creating a shared vision for the PE/Athletic program were significant findings related to the role of EJ Dunn Middle School's PE/Athletic program and its school community.
