Cyberbullying is a cruel and dangerous act that is being committed in schools through the use of digital technologies such as: cell phones, social media sites, and the Internet. The problem that this study examined was teachers' perspectives on the effectiveness of their schools' preventative strategies on cyberbullying. Since teachers are normally the first people to respond to bullying incidents it is important for them to know how to respond to the situation, which has not been investigated from their perspectives' in any recent studies. Research studies have also shown that teachers and administrators have different perspectives about their roles regarding how to handle cyberbullying in the classrooms, which is another gap that should be evaluated. This study is important since it is bridging the gap in knowledge by looking at the unknown teacher perspectives instead of the well-known student perspectives on this subject.
