Leadership styles and organizational missions have been evolving over many years leading to the current sustainable leadership theory. Leaders have more expectations placed on them to follow their own value systems and to respond to multiple stakeholders. Additionally, organizational missions have found the need to respond to multiple stakeholders' demands to focus on more than a financial profit. The convergence of the two evolutions has been found in sustainable leadership. The purpose of this study was to explore leadership coaches' expert opinions with regard to the current skills, knowledge, and activities of current sustainable leaders and forecast the possible future direction of sustainable leaders to help build training programs and/ successful sustainable leaders. A mixed-method modified Delphi research technique was utilized to help explore expert opinion regarding sustainable leaders. Ten leadership coaches were asked to participate in three rounds of questions that included open-ended questions, then a ranking and rating style survey to help determine consensus among these experts with regard to the current and future of sustainable leadership. Findings from this research support that current sustainable leaders are focused on the internal/external stakeholders, including concepts of collaboration, diversity, and team work, instead of balancing the four pillars of sustainable leadership. Additionally, in the future, considerations such as technology and personal development will be a focus for sustainable leadership according to the expert panel in this research.
