Thesis (M.S.)--Southern Connecticut State University, 2017.
This study investigated the relationship between social media usage and self-esteem in middle school students. The participants in the study were given a survey that contains questions about the types of social media they use, how often they use it, how they feel they are viewed by their peers, etc. All of the participants in the study are between seventh and eighth grade and attend a summer camp in Liverpool, New York. Throughout the entire study I was able to answer these three questions, do middle school students use social media? What type and how frequently do middle school students use social media? What is the relationship between their use and type of social media and their self-esteem?
