This study is an analysis of the development of the Protestant Church in China since the 1911 Revolution. Its orientation is the experience of human suffering in relation to the purpose of God, to the Apostolic Church, to the Chinese people, to the Chinese Church in the mainland as well as in the diaspora, and to the salvation plan of God for the world. The motif of suffering is made the point of departure for Chinese theology, for the Church's experience and understanding of her Body Life, and as a key missionary strategy in her obedience to the Great Commission.Subjects--Topical Terms:
