「中央政治會議」是1924年國民黨改組時期的產物。改組前, 國民黨的組織採總理制, 孫中山是不二的黨魁 ; 改組後取委員制, 仿俄共中央政治局的模式, 建立一個核心、人少的中政會, 以為運作靈活的決策中樞。1926年, 國民黨中全會通過<政治委員會組織條例>, 同意在重要地方可設立地方分會。1928年, 決定設置廣州、武漢、開封、太原四個政治分會, 由李濟深、李宗仁、馮玉祥、閻錫山分任主席。中政會是國民黨中央執行委員會特設的政治指導機關, 其決議由中執會交國民政府執行, 地方分會則秉承中政會的決定, 在特定地區內有指導、監督該地最高政府之權力。本書收錄中政會武漢分?1-49次會議紀錄, 概見武漢地區1928-1929年間政治變動情形。
