Themes and Aesthetic of the Victorian Era and Their Practical Application in 21st Century Storytelling An exploration of the established theory principles, aesthetic and themes of Victorian-era literature and media, tracing central practices from the inception of the genre in the industrial 19th century and their modern application today. Through examples of period literature and modern serial narrative (Fox's 2017 series `Taboo'), the history and style of the genre is explained and then applied practically in a twi-hour season finale of modern urban storytelling for the season finale of 2017 BET anthology series `Tales', written by the author.
