Historical events and trends from the end of the Second World War through the end of the Twentieth Century were studied to examine their impact on the character development of American youth. All four cornerstones of society: religion, government, family, and education, were reviewed.

The study was then broken down into three time periods. Major themes were analyzed and interpreted to determine their influence on youth character development. The findings in this study will provide strategies for the implementation of formalized teachings of good moral conduct.
