The purpose of this study was to investigate the potential impact of contemporary male adolescents posting video content online, given they may be placing their future chances for employment and college admission in jeopardy; and, whether this risk is greater for Black male adolescents in comparison to White male adolescents---given negative stereotyping of Black males as threatening, aggressive, and triggering fear in our society. Black adolescent males posting online video content may be placing themselves in jeopardy of experiencing more severe negative consequences in the future (e.g., employment, college opportunities) in comparison to their White male adolescent peers.

As to whether Black adolescent males posting online video content may place them in jeopardy for more severe negative consequences, the study suggests the answer is "no." Instead, Black male adolescents may be benefitting from a new era wherein diverse adults who are well educated actually hold a positive image of Black males, along with high and positive expectations for their success.
