The title of my project is entitled, Healthy Life, Healthy Living . The purpose behind the project is to attempt to transform thinking, and modify behavior towards Christianity and diet. In doing so, the congregation will become more missional. The term Missio Dei, which refers to God's desire to redeem creation and everyone in it from the fall, is also a goal of the project. The project entailed four information sharing forums, and a three-part sermon series, which contained content that supported the importance of healthy dietary options. The forums and sermons also emphasized the importance and responsibility of Christians to honor God through their bodies. A cross-section of the Eastwick congregation, which included five men and five woman, of various ages was the sample size. Through a series of surveys, and interviews, I was able to observe and measure increases in transformed thinking, and modification of behavior among the group. The pre-project survey indicated the various attitudes and behavior practices of the participants from the start of the project. At the conclusion of the project, a post project survey revealed the majority of participants experienced transformed thinking towards religion and diet. The majority of participants also experienced various levels of behavior modification towards diet and religion. The results from the interviews and observations support the findings. The Eastwick congregation is better informed, and gives testimony regarding the physical and spiritual benefits which result in eating healthier. The goal of Missio Dei is an ongoing mission, which is continued throughout the life of the church. This project will continue to inform and encourage Christians, and communities throughout the region that transformation and behavior modification towards religion and diet are possible.
