In chapter 1, we introduce a new trace theorem and establish the existence and uniqueness of solutions in L2(O) 2 for the Stokes problem in a domain O, which is smooth or a convex polygon. The results are also extended to the linear evolutionary Stokes problem.

In Chapter 2, we apply a regularization method on the imposed boundary condition. and numerically simulate solutions to both the original and regularized Stokes problems. Hence we demonstrate the advantages of the regularization method.
