This study attempted to study the effects that purposive and coercive communication system in China may have brought about as changes within the values and belief systems of the 127 Chinese people surveyed and interviewed through a constant exposure to political topics. More specifically, this study attempted to measure descriptively and analytically the dimensions of cultural change and continuity effected through communication campaigns in China. Both survey questionnaire and face-to-face interview approaches were used in this study. Based upon the survey and interview data, a complex picture of varying degrees of change as well as continuity in Chinese culture was found.Subjects--Topical Terms:
