On the stance of frontier teachers, the focus of this study is on teachers' practical knowledge about classroom management and its development. Our research questions including: Firstly, is teachers' knowledge in this domain only a kind of general pedagogical knowledge (GPK)? What are the categories of content and features of it? Secondly, if so, what are sources and approaches of its development? What are its legitimation and ways of expression? In addition, what are the contextual influences about the development of teachers' practical knowledge during teachers' career lives?

According to the content of research questions, this study adopted case study within qualitative research orientation, and we used story-line methodology, concept mapping, and semi-structured interviews to inquire their teachers' practical knowledge about classroom management of eight primary school and kindergarten teachers with different teaching ages.

The main findings: 1. there were nine categories of content, six features of the teachers' practical knowledge about classroom management. 2. This study found a variety of sources and teachers' individual approaches on the development of the knowledge mentioned above. By observation and their own trial and error activities, teachers accumulated their practical knowledge around its legitimation, and represented it in public through some formal and informal ways. 3. We found some contextual influences, which influenced the development of teachers' practical knowledge about classroom management during their career lives.

Based on the findings, this study gave some suggestions for further researches and practice on teacher education curriculum and in-service teacher facilitating programmes from the perspective of teachers' practical knowledge about classroom management.
