This work is an investigation of the stress system in the Hasawi Arabic dialect, with emphasis on the foot structure, the stress pattern, and the constraint hierarchy for the dialect. The hypothesis of the work is that stress in Hasawi Arabic is attracted to the domain of the prosodic word instead of the prosodic head due to morphosyntactic and phonological interactions. The analyzed data reports that Hasawi Arabic is a quantity-sensitivity trochee just like most Arabic dialects spoken in Asia. Also, Hasawi Arabic allows extrasyllabic moras at a designated edge of a syllable to join the node of a prosodic word in order to obtain a well- formed foot of the quantity-sensitivity trochee.
