The author examined the results of the teacher-student relationship during lesson instruction. Primary focus on if and when the teacher changes instructional techniques based on student engagement. Three separate classes by three different teachers were observed to obtain data. Class size was between 28 and 33 students with White students making up 49% of the population and 47% of the population being Hispanic. Over 75% of the student population is designated as eligible for free or reduced price lunches.
