Thesis (M.S.)--Southern Connecticut State University, 1991.
The main objective of this study is to determine whether conceptions of human intelligence differ between Chinese and American college students. Gender differences within the two groups is a secondary objective. The test was administered to college freshmen in various majors from both Beijing University and Yale University. Analysis of variance was used as the statistical technique. The major results reflected that the Chinese students considered the experiential and the contextual components significantly more important than the American students, but not significantly different on the componential component. Suggestions for further research, applications and limitations were discussed.Subjects--Topical Terms:
