The following business plan proposes the opening of Hatch, a contemporary art gallery in the creative neighborhood of Bushwick in Brooklyn, NY. Hatch is unique in that it will function as a contemporary art gallery and also as a retail bookstore space that sells prints, artists' books and zines in addition to fine art. Hatch will also engage with the surrounding community through hosting monthly events such as artist talks and workshops. Due to a lower concentration of foot traffic in Bushwick and the newness of the gallery, Hatch will face the challenge of acquiring new clients and customers. In order to overcome this obstacle, Hatch plans to utilize social media and also to attend various art fairs throughout the year. The first year cash flow for Hatch is predicted to be positive, with Hatch making a marginal profit by the end of the first fiscal year. The gallery is expected to grow exponentially with each year as Hatch gains more clientele.
