The current study examines the relationship of adult self-reported attachment style and current psychopathology. Utilizing a correlation research design adult participants (n = 22) were recruited from a Midwestern, urban community mental health agency. Data yielded no significant relationship among dismissing, secure, fearful, or preoccupied attachment styles on the Relationship Questionnaire and current psychopathology on the subtests of the Personality Assessment Inventory. This study contributes to the professional literature of adult attachment style and works to bridge the gap in understanding the influence that attachment styles have on overall functioning.
