The primary goal of this study was to discover factors that influence an individual's choice of conflict management styles by employing a qualitative exploratory methodology to investigate the impact that generational differences has on conflict management. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 24 public service workers in the state of Virginia to explore this relation. The findings suggested that there was no direct relationship between generational cohorts and conflict management styles. It can be concluded that conflict management styles are driven by factors other than generational cohorts, such as leadership behaviors.
