Thesis (D.P.C.)--Mississippi College, 2016.
This study will develop an integrative group treatment model that incorporates Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy for treating delinquent adolescents detained in a correctional facility that have a history of trauma experiences or posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Core components of DBT and EMDR, which are recognized evidence based practices, will be considered for treating this population in a group setting. The benefits of group therapy will be presented as well as the purpose and significance of the study. The Developmental Research and Utilization (DRU) model will be the research method for this study and will be presented together with the organization of the remainder of the study as a conclusion.
