Thesis (M.F.A.)--Saint Mary's College of California, 2016.
Art and our human consciousness echo one another. Art can become a communal experience even if the range of opinions is vast. These moments of connection with art can trigger individual imagination, if only in a small glimpse or for a moment in time. Even with individual differences, meaning can be shareable. Poetry and dance are powerful communication examples that can influence an individual's perception of emotions concerning themselves, the world and reality. The function of poetry and dance is not to express man's desire or to change the world in which we live but to offer a process of self-discovery and self-realization. In art the aesthetic meaning can sometimes trump the communicative one. The true meaning resides in the maker of the art, the conscious Muse.
