The main themes that emerged from this study were the importance of building strong relationships, communicating well internally and externally, the great opportunity within the workforce development area of the college to access funds, the assistance that college Foundations can provide in leveraging new resources, and the spark that a mindset and commitment to entrepreneurship can ignite on a college campus. A model that places workforce development at the heart of college that is bolstered by government and community support along with national best practices in entrepreneurship offers a path forward for college leaders facing revenue challenges.
