Keeping a counseling business alive is a significant problem facing female therapists in the United States. The purpose of this qualitative study was to describe the lived experience of mothers who are master's level therapists managing the difficulties and challenges of running a counseling business, attending to the needs of their children, and taking care of their own emotional and mental health. This study attempted to explore the textual and structural themes, along with the overall essence of the therapists' experience of managing self, family, and business. Ten female clinicians, in business at least three years, provided the sample for this Giorgian type phenomenological approach. This research may have implications for counselors who must manage their business, their family, and their emotional well-being.
