This study examined if learning styles differences exist among generational cohorts. In addition, the research assessed preferences in learning strategies among generational cohorts. The study combined the constructs of differences in learning styles and learning strategies to further advance body of knowledge of how styles might vary. The Kolb Version 3.1 was used to examine if there was a preferred learning style by each generational cohort. The results of the study revealed there was no preferred learning style. The VARK questionnaire was used to assess preferred learning strategies among generational cohorts. The results of a chi-square test were significant, chi 2(2) = 9.99, p = .007, suggesting there was a significant relationship between generational cohort and visual learning strategy. Further analysis revealed there was no other preferred learning strategy among generational cohorts. Research on these differences will enable managers, organizational development leaders and management education practitioners to deliver learning solutions that meet the learning needs of current and future leaders. It will also enable management education practitioners to design instructional methods conducive to individual learning styles. This research filled the gap in management education by examining if there was a difference in individual learning styles and strategies among baby boomers, generational X, and millennials.
