Thesis (M.F.A.)--California State University, Long Beach, 2015.
The Colored Museum produced by the California State University Long Beach University players and written by George C. Wolfe is a satirical play that addresses the stereotypes and racially biased attitudes that have persisted against African Americans for over 200 years in the United States. These racist attitudes have continued due to systemic racism, which occurs institutionally and structurally when policies result in the marginalization of certain peoples. The various stereotypes that Wolfe presents in his play are both old and modern; and indicative of a society that has come a long way in the equal treatment of African Americans but still has a long way to go.
