The purpose of this study is to examine the School Nutrition Services Supervisors (SNSS) and their knowledge and confidence about the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGAs). This is a quasi-experimental study with a pre- and post-test design. The sample included 15 female School Nutrition Services Supervisors from the Nutrition Services Branch of the Long Beach Unified School District. The Nutrition Education Workshop used resources and material provided by the Bell Institute called, "Cruise the Sea of Healthy Living." The researcher created the pre- and post-test.

The participants' post-test knowledge scores increased significantly after the educational workshop. Confidence scores showed an increase in six out of the seven research questions for confidence, demonstrating that SNSS can improve their knowledge and confidence about the DGAs. Future research is needed to determine the effectiveness and the impact of the nutrition education workshops on the school cafeteria environment.
