Domestic Violence is about the power and control of an individual. It is a public health issue because people are getting injured. It is a human rights issue because the rights of women are not recognized. The goal of this study is to determine whether factors such as stressors related work, education, family characteristics, economic status, and alcohol use are significant correlates of Black and Hispanic male to female violence against their married or cohabitating partners in the United States. Several models are run by race/ ethnicity to see whether similar variables predict male to female violence. This study is based on an analysis of data from the National Survey of Families and Households Wave I, 1987--1988. The results are that alcohol is the strong significant in male to female violence among Blacks and the Hispanics.
