This qualitative study focused on counseling psychology doctoral students' perspectives regarding their practicum training experience in primary care psychology. The four participants included three females and one male. Semi-structured individual and focus group interviews were used to explore participants' experiences. The participants described a collaborative care process that included the following themes: Mental Health Culture, Primary Care Context, Challenging Entry, Adapting to the Primary Care Context, Managing Complex Cases, and Results of the Collaborative Process. Overall, participants reported increased self-efficacy with collaborative health care processes in the primary care setting, increased awareness of minority patients' health care needs, and expanded understanding of primary care psychology as a potential area of practice. Implications for training counseling psychologists in primary care psychology are explored.
