My final project is a series of twenty-three paintings that revolves around the idea of perception and sight during the process of viewing and creating art. The paper describes the main theme of my creative project while discussing the artworks I produced. I will also discuss the artworks and research that influenced this body of work, along with the creative processes I used when creating these works. The paper also describes the exhibit that was held from June 6-June 13th at Project 308 Gallery. My paintings were all based upon the same theme of perception. The solo exhibition established me as a teaching artist, which means I am keeping the spirit of the arts alive within the self through practice, while educating students with that same passion. My program has been about being an effective teacher while at the same time broadening my portfolio as a practicing artist.
