This study sought to investigate the influence of telework on human resource (HR) goals. Specifically, this study examined the HR goals of employee engagement, job satisfaction, and productivity. A qualitative approach involving a semistructured interview was used to explore participant experiences and perceptions of telework. Data analysis was done using an inductive thematic analysis based on a realist perspective. A total of 8 participants (4 males, 4 females) ages 24 to 48 years old (M = 35.5 years) took part in this study. Findings of this study provide limited support to the available literature on HR goals. This study found that telework presented numerous challenges to employee engagement with participants citing challenges with communication and the potential for isolation. Conversely, telework was found to have a positive influence on job satisfaction where participants noted the benefits of flexibility for personal and work goals. The influence of telework on productivity was influenced by work environment and the ability of participants to focus on their work.
