This qualitative study of 10 expert strategic thinking ministers sought to determine the key experiences that contributed to their development of strategic thinking. Eight experiences were identified, as well as habits and practices and character traits that contributed. Organizational factors that facilitate and impede strategic thinking development were also discovered.
