The research reported here describes twelve samples representing three geographic areas distributed from north to south collected from fusulinid rich sandstones in portions of the Brushy Canyon Formation, Delaware Mountains, West Texas, and interprets the relationships between these sandstone units. Results reported here are based on petrographic point count analysis and insoluble residue analysis. Data reported include porosity, grain size, and fossil content of the samples. Results suggest a different source area for the more southerly samples when compared to the more northerly specimens. Future field investigations should focus on sedimentary structures to determine transport directions to provide additional evidence of multiple source areas for the sands.
