The comparison of German and Spanish translations of a New Testament text in their verbal aspect or "Aktionsart" lead to deeper reflections on the comparability of language styles.

During their translation work, translators have to make decisions (interpretations) due to the fact that the target language has to differentiate for ex. where the source text---from the perspective of the target language---is 'combining' meanings. During the study, a set of concepts is being developed representing phenomena that are observed in the comparison of the target texts.

In spite of both translations (Spanish and German) being correct, one language tends to perceive and, on the other hand, to express special segments of the text, which means by putting an accent on those elements, that the other language apparently does not transfer in the same way or intensity. Language, as an intellectual organisation, seems to have a special 'need' for the perception and expression of those elements, a fact that corresponds to human need to perceive and express a reality, its limitation and its separation in different languages.

Traditional, fixed and inflexible correlation systems (lexicons, construction and expression tools) are being put into question while their need to be completed by a style oriented attitude is being revealed. The artistic, creative character of translation is underlined, being understood as a unique, temporal, active uttering of a human person.
