Based on a literature review and in-depth individual interviews, this qualitative research explores what American job recruiters expect of graduate students, and investigates the use, effect, and impact of playing modern video games. In order to examine whether playing video games can assist graduate players to become qualified employees, this researcher explores the skills that players achieve from gaming and discusses the educational potential of gameplay. The research suggests that video gaming can play a productive role in training recent graduates in the skills necessary for the modern workplace.
