At first, current issues with project risk management as perceived by practitioners are analyzed through a survey. Additionally, project risk identification is ascertained to be the the most problematic phase of the project risk management life cycle. Based on the issues encountered, a new framework to identify project risks is developed using collaboration engineering. The framework is applied in two exemplary real-world workshops to determine the participants' performance, satisfaction, commitment, communication, and transition intention compared to their previous processes.

In conclusion, the thesis will show, that collaboration science allows the development of efficient workshops for project risk identification. By providing a step-by-step guide, even inexperienced facilitators can create an observable, tangible benefit.
