Thesis (Psy.D.)--The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, 2013.
Utilizing the Theory of Planned Behavior as a framework for understanding organizational change, this study examined the extent to which behavioral, normative and control beliefs were positively related to and predicted whether employees engaged in a change-supportive behavior. It was hypothesized that organizational beliefs would be positively related to and would predict whether employees engaged in this behavior. The context of the research was a sample of 100 employees in the early stages of their annual performance appraisal process. Results indicated that direct measures of behavioral, normative, control and behavioral beliefs were not positively related and predictive of whether employees engaged in a change-supportive behavior. Findings are discussed in terms of the application of measuring beliefs for effective change management.
