This dissertation furthers G. Fairholm and M. Fairholm's research on leadership perspectives among women leaders in the Department of Defense. The basis of the study was to explore the lived experience of the participants in terms of their leadership perspectives and practices. The researcher determined that each of the five leadership perspectives from the G. and M. Fairholm research models were present within the data. Overall, the women leaders identified strongly with excellence management, which had the highest number of identified themes. An analysis of these findings is presented along with recommendations for further research studies.
