This study used organic inquiry to explore the relationship between color and spirituality, exploring color's influence on one's experience of Self and Spirit. Specifically, it sought to explore the questions: Might the use of color invite and nurture an experience of connecting with something greater than oneself? Might color invite and nurture an experience of one's spirituality? What is the role of color in exploring, understanding, and connecting to one's spirituality? What can color contribute to one's spiritual journey? An overview of literature on the influence of color on human life provides evidence that people can benefit psychologically and physically from the use of color. There is limited research on color's direct influence on spirituality. Participants interested in exploring their spirituality were invited to use color creatively as an integral part of their research experience. Interviews were conducted at the end of each meeting to gather research on the experience of using color and the relationship between color and spirituality. Part of the research gathered included my own personal experiences of using color in my daily spiritual practice and experiences of sharing my drawings in sessions with my spiritual guides. The results of this study contribute to the understanding of color's influence on spirituality, and may lead to further research on this subject and new possibilities for the use of color in the field of spiritual guidance. Ultimately this study promotes the use of color as an opening into spirituality for those who are seeking to come alive by discovering, exploring, and living in an intimate relationship with Self and Spirit.
