Parental involvement and satisfaction in a school has been shown to positively contribute to child academic success. However, few studies have sought to expand beyond the family and incorporate the input of the community at large. The present study involves an examination of data on parent and community-based research in a school district regarding parent and taxpayer satisfaction with school programming. Specifically, through an on-line and paper copy survey, the research evaluated parent and community satisfaction as it relates to academics, athletics, extra-curricular activities, budget, and technology, as well as parent involvement. In addition, variables contributing to involvement including value and knowledge, or awareness, of programming and related demographic information were assessed. School psychologists should concern themselves with parent-school-community partnerships because of the potential positive impact it has on student academic achievement. Additionally, given their training in collaboration, the school psychologist may be the most appropriate school personnel to facilitate these working relationships.
