Thesis (M.S.W.)--California State University, Long Beach, 2013.
The purpose of this project was to address the needs of the Hispanic Spanish speaking caregivers of individuals diagnosed with dementia of the Alzheimer's type. An intensive literature review was conducted in order to provide accurate information pertaining to the causes of "burden" experienced by the caregivers and evidence based approaches to meet their needs. A search for potential funding sources was also conducted in order to find an appropriate source. During this search, the Rosalinde Gilbert Innovations in Alzheimer's Disease Caregiving Legacy Award through the Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Foundation was identified as the best source of funding due to the structure, mission and vision of the program. Additionally, Oxnard Family Circle Adult Day Healthcare Center was identified as the host agency because of the objectives of the agency and those of the program. Actual submission and/or funding of this grant were not required for successful completion of this project.
