Thesis (M.A.S.E.)--Caldwell College, 2013.
The purpose of this study was to determine if the implementation of three specific iPad "apps" would improve the writing skills as well as the attitude toward writing of two seventh grade students. The experiment took place in a seventh grade classroom during the students' English/language arts class. At the time of the treatment, the two participants under study utilized the specific iPad writing "apps" both in class and at home in order to complete various writing assignments. The data gathered during the this six-week study indicated that the use of these iPad writing "apps" enriched students' writing skills in the areas of content, conventions, vocabulary, and organization. Results indicate that the use of writing "apps" along with the iPad access also improved the attitude of the two special education students toward writing, thus making them more willing to complete various writing assignments.
